HUMAN BEHAVIOR DEVELOPMENT ISSUES

Content Area Editor:

Definition:

This section contains a wide range of behavior that may occur during both typical and atypical human development.

General Practice Guidelines:

1.  As in all cases a medical etiology should be ruled out prior to beginning behavioral treatment  interventions.

2. All guidelines in this area will focus primarily on building adaptive skills and behavior as a means of remediating the problem behavior.  Only after such efforts have proven unsuccessful should primarily reductive procedures be considered.
